Navttc Organized Provincial Skill Competition

Recently, a Provincial Skill Competition was organized by NAVTTC to select competent graphic designers who would later represent Sindh at national level competition. PAPGAI fully supported this healthy and professional competition and extended full cooperation to the organizers in this regard. It is worth noting that for the first time the question paper for the said competition was prepared by Salman Haroon, on behalf of PAPGAI. Mr. Salman Haroon was the assessor of the test papers as well along with another member of PAPGAI Mr. Yousuf Naeem.

Over 300 Students Enrolled For Assistant Offset Machine Operator Course

The management of Memon Industrial Technical Institute (MITI) has expressed their pleasure over the start of their second batch from 10th May, 2018 with 28 students for Assistant Offset Machine Operator course. With this batch, the PAPGAI completed its triple century of students as the total number of students enrolled during two and a half years has crossed the impressive figure of 300. The management of MITI has thanked the PAPGAI for their support and the role played by them in making this great achievement possible. On this occasion, Salman Haroon, Chairman of PAPGAI’s TVET (Technical Vocational Education Training) Committee said this is a great moment for the industry as the efforts by PAPGAI are heading in the right direction. He said the industry is in constant need of skilled and trained workforce for which PAPGAI has been making untiring efforts in designing the competitive and demand oriented syllabus and courses for different institutes so that they can offer up-to-date technical training courses to the aspirants.

Swedish dairy products manufacturer Skånemejerier has chosen RPC Superfos’s packaging for its Allerum mature cheese portfolio. The product is a wedge-shaped pack with oxygen-barrier label created by RPC Group’s division RPC Superfos, which reportedly eliminates the need for a serving plate and for finger contact. Sihl improves thermal papers

Sihl has released a new, significantly improved sensitivity of the Pro and ATB grades of thermal papers with security elements from 100 to 400 gsm for all within the ticketing sector. The new Pro and ATB grades enables Sihl to meet market demands, created by the use of a new generation of thermal printers. This new generation operates at substantially lower energy levels than the previously used thermal printers.

Peter Frei, CEO of the PANTEC print decoration business, has passed away

The Delta Group, a London-based global visual communications provider, made an important investment in digital technology at the FESPA Global tradeshow in Berlin, purchasing an EFI™ Nozomi C18000 single-pass, ultra-high-speed LED inkjet corrugated packaging press from Electronics for Imaging, Inc. (Nasdaq: EFII). The Delta Group made the investment to meet customer needs, including increased demand for faster turnaround times and lower costs. Canada passes plain tobacco packaging law and vaping regulations

The Canadian government has approved a legislation that aims to regulate vaping and could pave the way for Health Canada to mandate plain packaging for cigarettes and tobacco. The bill, S-5, allows changes to be made on the Tobacco Act currently in force in Canada, which could see tobacco companies obliged to remove their brands from tobacco packages, and has therefore sparked criticism from producers and retailers.

Primera launches LX910

Primera Technology has launched LX910, its fastest-ever desktop color label printer. LX910 can handle labels as wide as 8in and as small as 0.75in. It can print a 4 x 3in label with 50 percent coverage in less than six seconds. In addition, ink costs are the lowest ever from Primera. This is due to a new, ultra-high capacity ink cartridge. On the same 4 x 3in label, cost per label is around US$0.03.
